Girifl Son y›llarda sitogenetik ve biyokimyasal veriler, taksonomik araflt›rmalarda ve turleflmenin izah›nda oldukca yayg›n bir kullan›m alan› bulmufltur. Bu tur cal›flmalar taksonomik kriterlerin yetersiz kald›¤› durumlarda, turleflmenin yonunun ve zaman›n›n belirlenmesinde oldukca onemli veriler salamaktad›r. Spalax genusu hayvanlar› rodentlerin toprak alt› ekolojik nifli kullanan ekstrem orneklerindendir (1). Bu hayvanlar›n dikkati ceken anatomik ve davran›fl adaptasyonlar›, yaflama tarzlar›n›n gerei, kazmaya musait ayak flekilleri ile iliflkilidir. For this, we examined the activities of Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) and 6-Phosphogluconate Dehydrogenase (6-PGD) enzymes from the liver of Spalax samples taken from both sides of river Euphrates. The samples belonging to genus Spalax were separated into two populationsin the research area. The spesific activities of G-6-PD and 6-PGD enzymes were measured at 0.01 level of significance. The results were given in a table. The observed differences between the mean specific activities of te enzymes of the two populatons were discussed.
