Excerpts from an unpublished letter sent in 1826 by Friedrich Sellow to Altenstein Baron reporting his journey to the former Jesuit Missions of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) are reproduced in Portuguese in this article, for the first time, along with a drawing of the same botanist.
