Touchscreen device for executing an event based on a combination of gestures and operating method thereof

Disclosed are a touchscreen device for executing an event based on a gesture combination and a method for operating the same. According to the present invention, there are provided a touchscreen device for executing an event based on a gesture combination and a method for operating the same, which includes maintaining an instruction database that stores a plurality of predetermined gesture combinations obtained by sequentially combining two or more gestures and instructions corresponding to the predetermined gesture combinations. When two or more touch inputs are provided by a user onto the touch screen at a predetermined time interval or less, a gesture combination based on the two or more touch inputs is checked, an instruction corresponding to the gesture combination is extracted from the instruction database, and an event corresponding to the extracted instruction is executed. Therefore, different from an existing touchscreen device, which executes an event only for one touch input, the touchscreen device according to the present invention can execute various events depending on the two or more various touch inputs, so numerous control operations for the touchscreen device can be implemented only with a touch input as if a function of a short cut key is performed. Accordingly, the convenience of a user can be provided.
