A Model to Allocate Repair Dollars and Facilities Optimally

1974
Abstract : This report describes a model which allows military essentiality considerations to be reflected in a unified plan for procurement and repair of recoverable (repairable) components used on aircraft. Using the model, funds can be allocated for the procurement and repair of components so that, in the opinion of high level planners, the number or percentage of operational units of different weapon systems (e.g., B-52s, F-4s, etc.) tend to be in the best balance for any and all funding constraints. Decisions are made through planners answering a series of straightforward questions. The model is an extension of the procurement model developed and tested under LMI Tasks 72-3 and 73-7. (Author)
