Chapter 2. Traction Mechanics. Part VI. Terrain Characterization for Trafficability Studies

2009
Abstract [First paragraphs]: This part presents methods for characterizing terrain material (or substrate) for off-road vehicle traction or trafficability studies. Although the primary emphasis of this section is soil strength characterization, unique aspects of organic terrain that are of interest to forest engineers are also included. The emphasis is on field measurements, with brief mention of their comparison to laboratory techniques.
