National goals for solar energy

The U.S. Federal Government has increased its commitment to solar energy and has set very ambitious goals for its commercialization. This paper traces the developments leading to these goals, the impacts of achieving these goals, and discusses methods for accelerating solar commercialization. 10 refs.
