A Statistical Analysis of Curvelet Based Fingerprint Identification and Authentication

2012
The biometric techniques based on fingerprint, face and iris are used in order to provide strong security. With identity fraud in our society reaching unprecedented proportions and with an increasing emphasis on the emerging automatic personal identifications applications, biometric-based verification, especially fingerprintbased verification is receiving a lot of attention. Fingerprint verification effects far more positive identifications of persons worldwide than any other human identifications procedure. The Fingerprint images are aligned around the core point, in this paper the core point is detected as a Poin’care Index Technique. In this system, the issue of fingerprint classification based on Curvelet transform has been analyzed. The Curvelet Transform is a higher dimensional generalization of the Wavelet Transform. The Fingerprint authentication is done by means of finding the Euclidean distance between the two corresponding feature vectors and hence matching is extremely fast.
