A expansão urbana e suas dificuldades: o caso de São José de Mipibú - RN The urban expansion and its difficulties: the matter of São José de Mipibú - RN

This paper aims to contribute to the evolution in the traditional design and execution practices of urban infra-structure and land division projects. The work intended to identify the execution mistakes and demonstrate the importance of the building-design interface in the production, intending to obtain a good quality in the execution of urban infra-structure works, especially in land division projects, observing and verifying negative points of the interferences among the client, designers and contractors. The main aspects questioned are related to design process management, to the coordination, to the cost and benefit ratio of the project and to the improvised solutions. In the development of this work, it was performed a bibliographical review, observation in site of a land division project during its execution, placed in Sao Jose do Mipibu city, in the Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil, and the results discussion. The identification of problems in the execution of the land division projects is an important subsidy to create further organized cities, well planed and correctly distributed.
