Retrospective Study on the Features of Traditional Chinese Medical of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura in Different Periods of Using Glucocorticoid

Objective:To establish a basis for traditional Chinese medical(TCM)treatment of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP)by seeking for features of TCM syndromes of ITP on the different stages of glucocorticoid application.Methods:The computer Search and the artificial retrieval methods were utilized combinedly to retrospectively summarize domestic journals related literature from January 1980 to December 31,2007.Results:24 papers of literature met the requirements were Retrieved,involving in total 939 cases of TCM syndromes of ITP using hormone therapy in different stages.The distributions of major TCM syndromes in ITP on the different stages of glucocorticoid application were syndrome of hemopyretic bleeding(33.65%),syndrome of qi failing to control blood(12.14%)on the initial stage of ITP.The main TCM syndrome were qi failing to control blood(17.15),yin deficiency inner heat(15.02)on the remission stage.The main type of ITP were deficiency of qi and blood(11.61),syndrome of qi failing to control blood(10.12)on the stable stage.Conclusions:The major TCM syndrome types are hemopyretic bleeding and qi failing to control blood on the initial stage,qi failing to control blood and yin deficiency inner heat on the remission stage,deficiency of qi and blood and qi failing to control blood on the stable stage,whereas blood stasis type appeared in all stages of glucocorticoid application.
