Deprotection of allyl esters with regeneratable polymer-supported pd(o)
1990
PURPOSE: To deprotect a protecting group and to regenerate a catalyst by allowing a compd. having a protecting group such as an allyl ester to react with polymer-supported Pd(O) in the presence of a nucleophilic agent. CONSTITUTION: About 1 equiv. compd. having a protecting group such as allyl ester or allyl carbonate is allowed to react with a catalytic amt. of polymer- supported Pd(O) in the presence of ≥1 equiv. nucleophilic agent such as 1,3- cyclopentanedione and one-step operation is carried out. The polymer-supported Pd(O) is a complex of a polystyrene-bonded triphenylphosphine and a tetrakistriphenylphosphine in a molar ratio of about (30-50):1. The protecting group is deprotected with the polymer-supported Pd(O) and then the polymer- supported Pd(O) is regenerated. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
