Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Sleeping Position

1993
To the Editor.— In view of the recent commentary by Drs. Hunt and Shannon in Pediatrics, July 1992, concerning the AAP Task Force on Infant Positioning and SIDS, I would like to present a case of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) in which the infant was found dead in a supine position after having been placed in his crib in prone position. This 5-month-old white boy was placed in his crib on his abdomen for a morning nap.
