An unusual case of chronic foot pain: Brodie's Abscess of the talus bone in an adult

2006
The lack of definite clinical signs and symptoms of Brodie's abscess and its often delayed presentation makes the diagnosis an enigma. The diagnosis is confirmed with radiological and bacteriological studies. The tibia is the most commonly involved bone. The tarsal bones are seldom involved. We report a case of Brodie's abscess of the talus bone in an adult which to our knowledge has not been reported. We discuss the clinical presentation, and the role of CT scan in the diagnosis and treatment.
