Study on the Linkage between Plasma Level of ANP and the Patients with Chronic Congestive Heart Failure

Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma level of atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) and the patients with chronic congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods The levels of plasma ANP were measured by radioimmunassay(RIA)in 41 patients with chronic congestive heart failure and 50 controls without CHF.Results The plasma levels of ANP in the CHF group were significantly higher than that in the control group(P=0.002);There were also significant difference among different grade (classified by NYHA)in the plasma levels of ANP(grade Ⅱversus gradeⅢP=0.02,gradeⅢ versus gradeⅣ,P=0.01).Conclusion The plasma ANP level is related to CHF,and it can be a valuable marker in diagnosis,therapy and prognosis of CHF.
