Occurrence of Entomopathogenic Nematodes (EPNs) Heterorhabditis indica and Steinernema siamakayi and Entomopathogenic Fungi (EPF) Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae in the Different Districts of Western Uttar Pradesh India.

The occurrence of Entomopathogenic Nematodes and Entomopathogenic Fungi was assessed in soil samples collected from different orchards and fields in Amroha, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad and Hapur districts of western U.P. Nematodes and Fungi were isolated from soil samples through baiting method them by the larvae of wax moth, Galleria mellonella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). A total of 190 soil samples were collected from different orchard, Vegetable, Pulses and Graminaceus crops during September, 2013 (Kharif Season) - January, 2014 (Rabi season). Only five samples were found positive for Entomopathogenic Nematodes (2.63% occurrence), identified as Heterorhabditis indica Cohen 21 and Steinernema siamakayi CM2 after molecular characterization and 39 samples were found positive for Entomopathogenic Fungi (20.52% occurrence), identified as Beauveria bassiana and Metarhizium anisopliae.
