The invention relates to the technical field of energy equipment, and discloses a friction power generation device and a preparation method thereof. The device comprises a first substrate and a second substrate which are arranged oppositely, wherein multiple elastic columns are arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate for supporting, a first conductive electrode and an insulating polymer film layer are arranged on one surface, facing the second substrate, of the first substrate in a stacked manner; a photosensitive resin layer is arranged on one surface, facing the first substrate, of the second substrate and adopts a concave-convex structure formed through exposure, and a second conductive electrode with a surface adopting the concave-convex structure is formed on the concave-convex structure covering the photosensitive resin layer. According to the device, the surface adopting the concave-convex structure is formed in at least one of two opposite surfaces of the second electrode and the insulating polymer film layer, so that when the first substrate and the second substrate move relatively, the friction area during friction of the second electrode and the insulating polymer film layer is increased, and the efficiency of the whole friction device during friction power generation is improved.
