Objective. To describe four cases of patients with pituitary tumor apoplexy. Material and method. We analyzed the information of four patients with pituitary tumor apoplexy. Resulys. One patient had acromegaly and the apoplexy happened during a treatment with lanreotido. The other three cases were patients with non functional pituitary tumors. All the cases were operated by endonasal transsphenoidal approach. Conclusion. Classic manifestations of pituitary tumor apoplexy include severe headache, visual field defects, and ophthalmoplegia.
