Application of 24G Remaining Needles in Infusion Therapy of Hyperemesis Gravidarum

2012
Objective To explore the role of 24G remaining needle in the infusion therapy of hyperemesis gravidarum. Methods Two hundred pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum were randomly divided into two groups.24G remaining needle was used in observation group, while routine No.7 needle was used in control group. We observed the pain degree of puncture, calculated the re-puncture rate during a day,and analyzed the infusion speed between the two groups. Results The re-puncture rate of observation group was lower than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P0.01).There was no statistically significant difference in the pain degree of acupuncture and the infusion speed between the two groups. Conclusions Applying 24G remain needles in treating pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum could lower the re-puncture rate, relieve the pain of patients, reduce the nursing workload, and ensure the safety in nursing.
