Extraction and determination of puerarin

OBJECTIVE To extract and separate puerarin from roots of Pueraria lobata(Willd.)Ohwi with water.METHODS Puerarin was separated by means of water extracting,organic solvent purification and following acid water crystallization.The content of puerarin was determined by TLC-scanning method.RESULTS Puerarin was extracted and purified.The yield was 6‰ and the contents of puerarin were(99.1%99.7%.)CONCLUSION The method is not only simple in process,but also high in yield and purity with low cost.It can be used for industrial production.
