The design and realization of structural damage alarming system of Runyang suspension bridge was discussed in detail based on the structural damage alarming method for long-span suspension bridges.The system adopts the damage alarming methods based on environmental-condition-normalized modal frequency and wavelet packet energy spectrum.The online and offline damage alarming analyses were realized using the two-stages design method.The system combining the modes of Client/Server and extended Browser/Server was suggested to connect the damage alarming system and other subsystems in health monitoring system efficiently and effectively.The damage alarming system software of Runyang suspension bridge was developed using the LabVIEW software,which includes three parts,i.e.,online identification of modal frequency and wavelet packet energy spectrum,correlation analysis and statistical modeling of damage alarming parameters and environmental-conditions,detection and alarming of structural abnormal conditions.
