2019
Objective To explore the effects of individual nursing on sleep quality and negative emotions in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Methods From May 2016 to April 2018, we selected 900 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University as subjects by convenience sampling. We recruited 450 patients with routine nursing in control group from May 2016 to April 2017 and 450 patients with individual nursing in observation group from May 2017 to April 2018. Before and after intervention, we evaluated the intervention effects with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) , Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) . Results Before intervention, there were no statistical differences in the scores of PSQI, SAS and SDS as well as satisfaction of patients between two groups (P>0.05) . After intervention, the scores of PSQI, SAS and SDS of patients in observation group were lower than those in control group; and the satisfaction with nursing of patients in observation group was higher than that in control group with statistical differences (P<0.05) . Conclusions The individual nursing for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients can effectively relieve the negative emotions and pain, improve sleep quality of patients, which is worthy of being widely used in clinical application.
