Pay attention to the standardized management of sleep disorders in Parkinson′s disease

2019
Various sleep disorders are the most common group of non-motor symptoms in Parkinson′s disease (PD), which can also occur during the prodromal phase of PD. All types of sleep disturbances may be encountered in PD: insomnia, excessive daytime sleepiness, rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorders, restless legs syndrome and sleep-disordered breathing. Standardized management of PD patients with sleep disturbance will be beneficial to improve the overall quality of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. More high-quality clinical trials need to be carried out in the future. Key words: Parkinson disease; Sleep disorders; Disease management
