Research on Melting and De-icing Methods of Lines in Distribution Network

Distribution network lines are numerous and widely distributed. Large numbers of them are distributed in the harsh micro-topography and micro-climate areas, which are prone to suffer from freezing rain and snow, then lead to the dumping of tower and the breaking of line. Ice melting and deicing are effective methods to deal with ice disaster in distribution networks. Combined with years of experience in anti-ice in Hunan, this paper systematically introduces the anti-ice methods of distribution network lines. These methods include electric current ice-melting by AC or DC and manual de-icing. According to the characteristics of distribution network, a set of comprehensive ice-melting system and ice-melting principle are put forward. The system and principle can effectively guide the anti-ice work of distribution network lines. The melting and deicing methods and systems are applied well in Xiaoshajiang area of Hunan province and have obvious effect.
