LA TOXOPLASMOSE CONGENITALE

2013
Four cases of congenital toxoplasmosis were observed in the child infectious department. Prenatal treatment by spiramycin was given in tow cases after seroconversion of the mother. After birth, two children were severely affected and two had benign manifestations. One of them could not be treated and died subsequently ; the others were treated by pyrimethamine and sulfonamides. Neurological sequelae have been observed in one case, one patient developped chorioretinis and the third patient had a good clinical outcome. These observations confirm the need, of serologic screening during pregnancy, of preventive educational programme, and an early recommanded treatment.
