The clinical evaluation of root canal therapy prepared by Profile

AIM:To evaluate the immediate and long term effect of Profile in root canal therapy.METHODS:179 molars suffering apical disease were prepared with Profile, and 175 molars suffering apical disease were prepared with stainless K file.After sterilization with FC for one week, all the canals were filled with Vitapex plus gutta percha. The immediate and long-term effects were analyzed one week and one year after treatment.RESULTS:After one week,the molars prepared with Profile suffered less symptoms than those prepared with K file.There was no evident difference between the two groups after one year.CONCLUSION:The immediate symptoms of root canal therapy after preparing with profile can be evidently reduced,because that Profile rotatory instrument could reduce the stimulation and damage to the apical tissue during preparation, and the root canal could be well shaped and compactly filled.
