Key Factors of organizational citizenship behavior in the banking sector of Pakistan

2012
Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) is very essential for the development and effectiveness of an enterprise. Therefore, the main purpose of this study was to explore the determinants of OCB among the employees of the banking sector of Pakistan. Questionnaire measuring altruism, conscientiousness, civic virtue and OCB were administered to 318 employees of banks and Pearson correlation was applied to test the hypothesis. All the determinants (that is, altruism, conscientiousness and civic virtue) were found positively and significantly related to OCB. Most importantly, the relationship between altruism and OCB was found to be more significant as compared to other two variables. The findings of this research could be a theoretical foundation for further study.
