Hopping charge transport of the porous carbon

2020
Abstract The electrical propriety of disordered carbon has been studied by hopping conduction, using an exponential distribution of states density. So, π orbitals produce localized states in the extended states σ. The electrical conductivity of the compound prepared by pyrolysis of a xerogel is interpreted by the loads hopping. The electrical conductivity versus pyrolysis temperature has been measured in order to identify the dominant conduction mechanism. There is a good agreement with the Godet model for hopping in localized states, rather than with Mott model. Here, the compound shows typical semiconductor propriety, resulting from delocalization of the π electrons in the structure.
