A neural stimulation system for applying neural stimulation to a body that has a neck, a larynx and a vagus nerve, a system comprising: an activity sensor (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 710, 810) adapted to capture a signal indicative of laryngeal activity; and a neural stimulation analyzer (324) coupled in communication with the activity sensor, including the neural stimulation analyzer: an input of laryngeal activity (325) to receive the signal indicative of laryngeal activity; a neural stimulation input (326) to receive a signal indicative of the sending of neural stimulation to the vagus nerve; and a processing circuit (327) coupled to the laryngeal activity input and the neural stimulation input, the processing circuit being adapted to process the signal indicative of laryngeal activity to analyze the neural stimulation system using the signal indicative of laryngeal activity .
