Numerical study of axially compressed FML profile including delamination

Delamination phenomenon as one of the failure mechanisms in hybrid Fiber Metal Laminate structures had been already recognized. It occurs in structures under various type of loading. This paper presents numerical investigation on the buckling and postbuckling behaviour of FML channel section column with implementing of delamination process. Delamination was applied to the model by contact elements using Cohesive Zone Method. Linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling analysis with implementation of geometric and material imperfections were performed.
