Gastric Neuroendocrine Tumors

2021
Gastric neuroendocrine tumors are diagnosed increasingly often and classified into three types with important differences in terms of behavior, therapeutic approach, and prognosis. They are non-functioning, well-differentiated neoplasms with a low to moderate proliferation index. Generally slow-growing and indolent, they can be very aggressive. The risk of metastatic spread correlates with size, infiltration beyond the submucosa, proliferative activity, and the presence of lympho-angioinvasion.
