How to Crowdsource Election Monitoring in 30 Days: the Mexican Experience

This chapter tells the story of the first crowdsourced electoral monitoring project in Mexico. Cuidemos el Voto! was founded by seven Mexican citizens and became in less than a month one the official reporting platform of NGOs and Governmental agencies in the Mexican election of July 5th, 2009. Cuidemos el Voto’s main goal was to provide a platform that allows citizens to report incidents and frauds through cell phones and the Internet, before, during and after the election.
