Results of PCL reconstruction

Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction has gained a great interest in the scientific community over the last decades. Despite this increasing interest, the management of PCL injuries remains a matter of debate, largely due to the lack of prospective studies delineating the true natural history of the injury and the absence of randomized trials comparing the outcomes of current modes of treatment. Furthermore, from the clinical viewpoint, PCL injuries are associated with a great variety of peripheral lesions, justifying the diffi culties in recruiting homogenous study group. Then different surgical techniques, using different type of grafts with different rehabilitation protocol make the comparison more diffi cult (Fig. 1).
