MODELING URBAN TRANSPORTATION EMISSIONS AND ENERGY USE: LESSONS FOR THE DEVELOPING WORLD

1995
This document attempts to assess the capabilities of urban transportation demand forecasting, emissions, energy, and land-use models to meet the needs of analysis in today's resource constrained world. Drawing from North American experiences, the report provides a brief history of these models and explores their application, shortcomings, and potentials. At the same time, the report examines the use of these models in the diverse urban environments of the developing world, analyzing applications to-date, model and data limitations, technical capacity, and opportunities for future use.
