Numerical Simulation of Temperature Field in Continuous Casting Billet under EMS

In the process of continuous casting,the distribution of temperature field under EMS(Electric Magnetism Stir) is simulated by means of software ANSYS. Calculation results indicate that the thermal exchange of molten steel is potentiated. At the same time,with the molten steel is intermixed,the inner superheat of molten steel is eliminated rapidly and the hyperthermic molten steel melt the front solidification line.The amount of nucleus in the molten steel is increased. Otherwise, the temperature in the molten steel becomes more homogeneous, which makes crystal grain grow into equiaxial crystal. In conclusion, EMS can improve the compact solidification structure of equiaxial crystal.
