The aerodynamic characteristics of the payload set-upped out of aircraft

At present, air launch is considered as an alternative to classical rocket launches, in view of its number of advantages. This paper explores influence from launch aircraft on aerodynamic characteristics of payload. The approach the creation block-structured mesh by means of ICEM CFD and further set-up Fluent solver. Aerodynamic characteristics of payload were calculated for various angles of setting the payload relative to the launch aircraft and for various angles of attack of the entire system. Based on the results of calculations, the best angle of attack and the angle of setting the payload was determined during the starting of separation process.
