El fantasma del mercenariado. Una aproximación histórica y jurídica al concepto de mercenario en occidente y su relevancia en el marco del conflicto colombiano

Through the international convention against the recruitment, use , financing and training of mercenaries , of 4 December 1989 , the United Nations, symbolized the political will to determine mercenary activity as a factor of violence in the world of such magnitude that it is imperative its proscription . Whatever the case , mercenary activity is currently poorly regulated , cunningly infiltrated and forgive the truth , openly practiced , it is fair to say that it is like a ghost, with an ambiguous legal framework , which , its very existence few can safely preach , but it is not a fantasy state that the evidence of their passing are everywhere. This text seeks to investigate and determine a genuine, present and sufficiently mercenary concept internationally, in order to apply it in the Colombian conflict and determine the existence of this figure in the national context .
