NÃO NÃO É LIXO, É RESÍDUO:

2019
As mechanisms for the promotion of social development projects (PDS), partnerships between non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and companies are driven, on the one hand, by corporate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices and, on the other, by the activist stance of NGOs. This premise, from the conflicting nature of these actors, leads to the understanding of social partnership as a network of collectively constructed activities, in a context of tension and contradiction. Given this, this study seeks to understand the process of building a PDS among an NGO-Company in the recycling sector, and how it achieves results through the contradictions and learning challenges faced by the participating individuals. To this end, the Cultural Historical Activity Theory (CHAT) was used as a theoretical-methodological lens, conducting an interpretative case study concerning the PDS between an NGO and the Iron Company. The results indicate that recycling, as a sector of activity, is configured as a possibility of social inclusion for the subjects involved in the PDS, given the social transformation caused by the increase of income, employability and improvement of working conditions. Thus, the contribution of this study consists in the use of the CHAT approach, while allowing to make new inferences about the tensions arising from the dialogical relationship between NGOs and companies, corroborating the discussions involving the relationship between business and society.
