Effect of the Processing Conditions on the Impregnating Degree of GF/PET Friction Spun Core Yarn

2008
The way that friction spun core yarn is used in manufacturing thermoplastic matrix composite is considered outstanding, and it is a difficult point to combine reinforcing fiber with thermoplastic matrix for thermoplastic matrix composite. The effect of the processing conditions on the impregnating degree of melted PET impregnating glass fiber (GF) was investigated though tensile strength and observation of cross-section, and the results showed that the processing condition had a great effect on the impregnating.
