Analysis of Static Magnetic Flux Density and Electromagnetic Force Distribution of a Dry-type Air-core Reactor Under Different Operating Current

2019
The noise of the dry-type air-core reactor is mainly caused by winding vibration forced by electromagnetic force. The distribution of magnetic flux density(MFD) may affect the electromagnetic force acting on the windings of reactor. In this paper, the calculation method of magnetic flux density(MFD) of the reactor is introduced and the static MFD and electromagnetic force of a dry-type air-core reactor is calculated. The analyzed results show that the distribution of the MFD produced by the dry-type air-core reactor do not change with operating current. The reactor bears an axial electromagnetic force contracting to the middle in the axial direction, and also bears a radial electromagnetic force expanding outward in radial direction.
