Distribution of gammarid Amphipoda (Crustacea) on Cascadia Abyssal Plain (Oregon)

1978
Abstract Based on 19 epibenthic sled samples, the species composition and relative abundance of the gammarid amphipod assemblages at nearshore and offshore stations on the Cascadia Abyssal Plain off Oregon were found to be very different, despite their similar depths (2800 m) and physical environments. Particle size and food availability seem to be the most likely causes of the observed faunal differences.
