It is well known, that after ingestion of ethanol resp. fructose and during starvation periods, the uric acid concentrations in the blood increase, whereas the renal uric acid output diminishes (1, 2,3) . Although many studies exist regarding their effects on uric acid metabolism, nothing is known about their influences on hepatic uric acid production.
