### Summary box Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) is a Small Island Developing (twin) State in the Caribbean with a population of 1.3 million and an illegal immigrant pool, some of whom are documented and with an unknown but likely substantial number of unrecorded persons. Of significance is that the island’s northwestern tip is located off the South American mainland and is less than 7 miles (11 Km) from the coast of Venezuela.
