The invention discloses a processing device and a processing method for high-speed infrared target detection and tracking images. The processing device comprises an FPGA processing module, a DSP processing module and an ARM processing module. The FPGA processing module is connected with Rapid IO interfaces of two DSP processing sub-modules which are contained in the DSP processing module through Rocket IO interfaces, the FPGA processing module is connected with McBSPs of the two DSP processing sub-modules contained in the DSP processing module, the FPGA processing module is connected with the ARM processing module through SRAM chips, the FPGA processing module is connected with UART interfaces of the ARM processing module, the FPGA processing module is connected with a gyroscope and an accelerometer through an I2C interface, and the two DSP processing sub-modules which are contained in the DSP processing module are both connected with DDR2 chips and Flash chips. The processing device occupies little inner storage, is high in transmission speed, and can satisfy real-time requirements.
