Enhancement of Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Alcohols by Utilizing Hydrotalcite as Support of NiO Nanocluster Catalyst

Supported NiO nanocluster was prepared by using nickel colloid as a precursor. NiO nanocluster was supported on hydrotalcite and the obtained catalyst was applied to oxidative dehydrogenation of alcohols. As a consequence, the prepared catalyst showed the highest activity compared to conventional heterogeneous nickel-based catalysts under clean reaction condition such as O2 molecule as an oxidant and base free condition. Utilizing nanocluster and support allowed the high activity for the reaction.
