Smartphone based Robot Control via Hand Gesture and Voice

2015
A robot is a combination of electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer and electronic programming. Many robots have been built for manufacturing purpose around the world. In earlier days robot can be control using the remote button. Now a day Android Smartphone is the popular gadget which is important for everyone which includes multiple features and functionality for user to do. Android is a open source software which is freely available. Internet provides multiple applications that exploit inbuilt hardware in these mobile phones, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi technology to control other devices. In proposed work we are developing the robot which can be control using the android application which includes four commands for moving the robot according to the input from user. The robot can also be control using the user voice and also using hand gesture so that any handicapped people will able to control it easily. the entire robot in all the four directions using the Android phone. Our proposed system also uses L293D IC which passes sufficient current to DC motor for performing the operations. The project aims is to design a robot which will operated using Smartphone. The overall processing is done on wireless connections using bluetooth technology present on android phone. We are also using Arduino kit which includes ATMEGA 32 bit microcontroller in which it is loaded with the program written in Embedded 'C'. Our project also includes hand gesture and user voice for controlling the robot.
