2017
The present article as a product of the master ‘s in sociology with which the configuration of the Colombian agrarian norm was studied, finalizing the nineteenth century and during the first two decades of the twentieth century. To develop this article was made use of primary sources of the General Archive of the Nation, section baldios and Archive of Congress, specifically memoirs of the ministers to the Congress of the Republic. As a central axis of discussion, it is considered that the transition from the nineteenth century to the twentieth century, the Colombian population had a significant growth that affected, among others, the pressure on occupied lands. This situation led many families to migrate to new frontiers of colonization and take with them not only the hopes of obtaining a place to work, but also the habitus with which they organized and legalized their property. Colonization, the interpretative ambiguity of the laws regulating property and the way the new lands were legalized led to conflicts between farmers, settlers and entrepreneurs becoming exacerbated, often leading to legal and physical confrontations. To finalize the exhibition, the approach of the different ministries on the subject is addressed and closed with possible thematic axes to continue studying this theme.
