"Cultural Reflection and Consciousness" in the Development of Chinese Wushu

On the basis of the literature material,the theory of cultural development and cultural consciousness is applied to research the development of Chinese martial arts.The results of the study show that: the objective for Chinese martial arts to enter Olympics is unwise or even stupid;Chinese martial arts' pursuit of becoming sportive and competitive leads the "mysterious" Chinese martial arts to the loss of cultural mysteries because of the simplification of the "sports target" pursuit.Thus strategies for the future development of Chinese martial arts are put forward: setting up the sense of "the cultural consciousness",strengthening the Chinese characteristics in the development of Chinese martial arts.
