Photosynthetic Characteristics of a Mutant with Yellow Leaf in Tobacco

The results from comparing the leaf chlorophyll content and photosynthetic characteristics of the mutant with yellow leaf and K326 with green leaf in tobacco showed that total leaf chlorophyll content of the mutant with yellow leaf was about 65% of K326 during the whole growth period,the leaf a/b ratio and carotenoid/chlorophyll ratio of the mutant with yellow leaf was higher than K326,and the leaf chlorophyll content of the mutant with yellow leaf and K326 was similar at leaf maturity stage.The net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate and stomatal conductance of the mutant with yellow leaf was lower than K326 and its net photosynthetic rate was 75% of K326.
