EDUCAÇÃO PERMANENTE EM SAÚDE: DESAFIOS E APLICABILIDADE

2021
Objective: To analyze the challenges for the applicability of Continuing Education in Health. Methodology: This is an integrative review, based on six pre-established steps. Data collection was performed in SciELO, LILACS, Medline and Periodicals databases, using descriptors in English and Portuguese. Inclusion criteria were: articles from 2004 to 2020 in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The exclusions were: paid publications, incomplete, theses, dissertations, books and duplicates. Results: Continuing Education in Health has its theoretical foundations linked to teaching-learning that until a certain time was only used in the educational context. Thus, this permanent construction must permeate different horizons of knowledge, that is, that which refers to the theoretical, coming from educational institutions and the knowledge that people experience and live daily. Final considerations: the main problems to be overcome for the applicability of EPS are organizational and structural. Namely, the high patient demand is mentioned, leaving the team overloaded and unable to undertake new projects; the applicability by the entire team of professionals, and not individually; the absence or inefficiency of a technological apparatus capable of speeding up and enabling the care of patients according to their lived and social reality.
