The invention relates to the technical field of straw compost after-ripening accelerators, and in particular relates to a straw compost after-ripening accelerator and a use method thereof. The accelerator comprises the following components by weight: 10-20kg of paper-making mud, 0-10kg of cellulose, 5-10kg of betaine and 2-5kg of arginine. The use method comprises the following steps: adding an urotropine modifier in the stage of converting a high temperature to a low temperature in a conventional compost method; and adding the after-ripening accelerator and a surfactant to carry out compost for 10-15 days at room temperature. By using the after-ripening accelerator, the decomposition rate of straw cellulose is above 50%, the increase production effect generated by using the compost product on crops is obvious, and the after-ripening accelerator has the effects of improving soil and enhancing the quality of agricultural products.
