Energetic SSource allotment scheme for cloud computing using threshold-based

2017
As compared to traditional distributed computing paradigms, a major advantage of the cloud computing is the ability to provide more reliable, affordable and flexible resources for the applications (or users). The need to manage the applications in the cloud computing creates the challenge of an on-demand resource provisioning and allotment in response to the dynamically changing workloads. Currently, most of these existing methods are focused on the optimization of the allocating physical resources to their associated virtual resources and migrating virtual machines to achieve the load balance and increase the utilization of resource. Unfortunately, these methods require the suspension of the cloud computing applications due to the mandatory shutdown of associated virtual machines. In this paper, we study the resource allotment at application level, instead of studying as how to map the physical resources to the virtual resources for better utilization of resource in the cloud computing environment. We proposed a threshold-based Energetic Source allotment scheme for the cloud computing that allocates the virtual resources (virtual machines) dynamically among the cloud computing applications based on their load changes (instead of allocating the resources needed to meet the peak demands) and can use the threshold method to optimize the decision of the reallotment of resource. The proposed threshold-based Energetic Source allotment scheme is implemented by using the CloudSim, and experimental results show the proposed scheme can improve the utilization of resource and reduce the cost of user usage.
